Race Report
2010 Sumter National Enduro
Team Off Camber Racing/Fastway/Klim

The Off-Camber, Fastway Performance, Pro Moto Billet, Klim Gear, Dubach Racing Development, Yamaha Race Team headed for Sumter, South Carolina and the Sumter National Enduro. The weather was extremely cold and the track was wet. The Team traveled through snow covered roads and mountains in Virginia and North Carolina to get to the race. The weather was better on Sunday for the race, reaching temperatures in the mid 40’s and there was some sunshine.

Amanda rode her YZ250F 4-stroke Yamaha, freshly back from Portugal and the ISDE. Amanda has been using a Rekluse automatic clutch in the bike and has been really happy with the bike since she garaged her YZ125 several months ago. Amanda misses her 2-stroke machines, but realizes it is time to start riding a 4-stroke full time. Mandi rode well for her first real race since the ISDE and won her class and is looking forward to winning another National Enduro Championship, hopefully making this her 10th title in the Series.

Cody Mastin rode his first real National Enduro since injuring his leg almost 2 years ago. Cody rode in the 250 A Class and finished 11 of the 12 Checks. Cody ended up 157th Overall and was pleased that his body held up that long. Cody is signed up for the next National Enduro in Georgia and continues to get stronger with each race.

The Team is extremely excited to have Chase Bishop riding for them this year. Chase won the Open A class in his first real attempt at a National Enduro. The whole Team rode on line 103, which is way back in the pack and can make for a really long and hard day. The course ends up being really rough for riders with later numbers, since almost 500 riders have been over it before they get to ride it. Chase is riding the new 2010 YZ450F and loves the new bike. He was unsure what his position was all day and the entire Team was excited and pleased when Chase ended up winning his class. Chase finished an impressive 25th Overall for the day and is looking forward to racing again in Georgia, before the whole Team heads to Florida for the start of the GNCC Series.

Also new to the Team this year is Eric Bailey, who will be riding in the XC1 Pro Class for the Team. Eric has rode XC2 for years and has decided to make the short step to the front line and race with the big boys in the GNCC Series. Eric has recently moved to Arizona to race and train at Steve Hatch’s Racing School. The Team is pleased to have Eric on the Team and be associated with Steve Hatch. The Mastin’s have been friends with Steve for years and know that his expertise will really help Eric step up his riding and his entire game. Check out Steve Hatch’s website and what he has to offer other riders.

Also back for another year is Duane Conner our Vet A rider. Duane had an awesome season last year for the Team and won the Vet A GNCC Championship. Duane is looking forward to this year and continuing to race for the Team. Rudy Austin is going to return to the States from good old England and race with the Team again. Rudy finished 3rd Overall in the Vet B GNCC Class and is looking forward to returning and racing again.

Off Camber Racing is very excited to announce a new title sponsor and partner for the team Dubach Racing Development. Dr. D is known world wide for their awesome 4-stroke exhaust and it was a no-brainer for both the team and sponsor to join forces. Dubach is interested in making more of a presence on the East Coast side of racing and Off Camber can give them this exposure, along with the Team’s other West Coast Sponsors, Klim Gear and Pro Moto Billet. The Team would like to thank Dubach for their help and sponsorship and a big shout out to Mark Tilley personally for helping out the Team. Check out Dubach Racing Development website for their full line of products.

Off Camber Racing would like to thank all sponsors that have made this year possible.
