Race Report
2010 Bike Week
Team Off Camber Racing/Fastway/Klim/DRD

The Off-Camber, Fastway Performance, Pro Moto Billet, Klim Gear, Dubach Racing Development, Yamaha Race Team headed south for Daytona Florida, the beginning of the GNCC season and Bike Week The weather was cold and snowy when they left Ohio and got a little warmer when they entered Florida. The Team was able to get some practice riding in at Ocala National Forest, before heading farther south into Florida and the Westgate River Ranch in Lake Wales, Florida.

Amanda Mastin lined up on the starting line against a stacked row of women, including WORC's Champion Maria Forsberg, WMA rider Sarah Whitmore, Ashley Crouch and many other GNCC regulars and Women SETRA riders. Amanda had a decent jump on the start, but slid out on the first turn when Whitmore went down in front of her. Amanda played catch-up all day to the two KTM riders or Forsberg and Whitmore, eventually passing Whitmore when she went down in the palmetto bushes. Amanda finished 2nd in the class and 40th Overall for the day Amanda knew that Forsberg and Whitmore would be tough to beat in the sand, since this track tends to be more WORCs and moto friendly. She was happy to finish 2nd and looked forward to the next GNCC in Georgia and racing in some real dirt.

Eric Bailey had a great start in Florida and rode hard all day to finish 12th in the XC1 Pro Class and a very impressive 22nd Overall. Eric has been training in Arizona with Steve Hatch for the winter and, like most of the team, was looking forward to getting Florida over and heading north to Georgia. Chase Bishop had a horrible start in the Open A Class and rode hard all day to catch back up to 2nd in the class. However, as Chase was battling for 2nd, his YZ450F ran out of gas and basically ruined his day. Chase was disappointed, but knows that it is a long series and has plenty of races to recover from this race. Rudy Austin lined up in the Vet B Class and pretty much lead the race from start to finish. Rudy is not a strong sand rider and was very excited to win the first race of the season in the sand.

After the Florida GNCC, Amanda, Chase and Rudy all headed north to Daytona and the Alligator National Enduro, to race on Thursday. The race was extremely wet and the promoters and club were restricted on what they could actually use for trail and what was used turned into a deep rutted, muddy mess for the later rows. Amanda, Chase and Rudy were all on row 62 and it turned out to be a long day for them. Amanda finished 1st in her class and actually enjoyed the race, she seemed to handle the mud pretty well. Amanda is currently 1st Overall in the points for the series.Chase finished 5th in his class and felt that he could not get going the entire day Chase had won the past two National Enduros and was disappointed to not finish better, but he still maintains the points lead for the series. Rudy fought the mud and holes all day and finished 11th in the Vet B class.

"After the Alligator Enduro, everyone continued north to The General GNCC and round two of that series. The weather was great in Georgia and Sunday proved to be a good day for the entire team. Amanda got a better start in Georgia and rode hard to stay with the leaders, Maria Forsberg and Ashley Crouch. On the first lap Amanda was in 2nd, only seconds behind Crouch, who was running strong in 1st and Forsberg was in 4th about 5 minutes behind the leaders. Amanda stayed with Crouch for several laps and eventually passed her when she got tied up with some trees. Amanda finished 1st in the Class and a very impressive 2oth Overall for the day. Crouch finished 2nd and Forsberg ended up battling back to 3rd for the day. Amanda is currently in 1st in the series, only 1 point ahead of Maria. Amanda is extremely impressed with her competition this year and knows that it will not be easy to defend her title with the likes of Crouch and Forsberg racing the entire series, not to mention four other girl racers that have the ability to win races.

Eric Bailey had another great start in Georgia in the XC1 Class and rode strong all day to try and keep up with the lead pack. Eric finished 10th in the class and a very impressive 20th Overall for the day. Eric is looking forward to the next round in North Carolina and is stoked about his starts and now wants to concentrate on staying at the front for the entire race. Eric feels that he can run the entire pro race pace and believes that it is simple mistakes that are hurting his overall race. Eric is currently 9th in points in the XC1 Class. Chase Bishop got off to a better start in Georgia than he did in Florida, but still had to work hard to get up with the leaders of the Open A Class. Chase finished 5th in the class for the day and is beginning to feel more and more comfortable each race on the new 2010 YZ450F. Chase was not feeling well that day and hopes to have an even better result in North Carolina. Chase is currently 7th in points in the Open A Class. Rudy Austin continued his winning ways in Georgia, after having a hard crash on the start of the Vet B row. Rudy pushed hard for 4 laps, before taking the lead and eventually the win. Rudy is really stoked to have two wins and is looking forward to remaining 1st in the points for the entire season.

Duane Conner, our Vet A rider was unable to attend the first two rounds of the GNCC series due to his job responsibilities. Duane had an awesome season last year for the team and won the Vet A GNCC Championship. Duane is looking forward to this year and will be in North Carolina to begin to defend his championship.
